Birds of a Feather Christmas Sparkle
Jump was asked by Hare and Tortoise to produce some graphics for the Birds of a Feather Christmas Special. The show went out on ITV on Christmas Eve.
One of our missions was to take a photo and turn it into a 3D camera move on a house completely covered in Christmas lights and decorations.
We had two days to produce the graphic which made it a pretty quick turnaround.
Russell Mann – Jump’s Technical Director
“We only had a still of the house but the client wanted the camera to pull out. We knew that would give away that it was a flat image. It would also make placing the 3D Christmas elements awkward. We projected the picture of the house on some basic geometry. As long as it was viewed from a similar angle, this made the house 3D again. It also gave us proper space to place the 3D Christmas elements and lights and somewhere for shadows to fall etc.”
Ben Gosling Fuller – Director
“I’ve worked with Jump for many years and they had created the titles for the show’s relaunch in 2014, so they were the perfect people to collaborate with for some special graphics and VFX we required for this year’s Christmas Special.
Russell Mann and Sancha Worthington were able to help us create a couple of shots we couldn’t achieve for real and did beautiful work to very tight deadlines.
It is always a joy working with the team at Jump. They are not only brilliant at what they do, but such lovely people to work with.”
