Jump creates the titles for ‘Positive’ – Arrow Pictures new series for Sky Documentaries
Positive is Arrow Pictures first commission for Sky Documentaries and marks Britain’s 40-year struggle with HIV / AIDS. Told by the key players who confronted this terrifying disease, Positive is the definitive and ultimately uplifting story of the disease that changed Britain.
The series launched on Sky Documentaries and the streaming service NOW on 1st December – World AIDS Day.
After an initial pitch process, Jump was commissioned by Arrow Pictures to produce the title sequence, bumpers, image treatment templates and lower thirds.
Harry Handyside – Art Director at Jump:
“Our winning concept was called Under the Microscope. The sequence puts the 40-years of HIV in Britain on a lightbox for examination, to create a medical feeling that reveals the human stories of those diagnosed, the doctors, the scientists and the activists.
After initially considering archive footage we ended up using high resolution archive photography. The image quality was so much better that the final product really benefitted.”
David Vincent – Series Editor, Arrow Pictures:
“Working with Jump Design was a genuine joy. Right from the pitch, Harry and his team came up with credible and persuasive creative ideas that grew into the final designs. They listened carefully to feedback and responded enthusiastically and importantly speedily on every occasion, despite our budget being limited. I would wholeheartedly recommend them – creatively strong and a pleasure to deal with.”
