RTS Craft and Design Award nomination for The Supervet
We were very proud that Jump received an RTS Craft and Design Award nomination for the work we completed on The Supervet. The sequences were entered into the Design Programme Content Sequences category. Blast! Films produced the series for Channel 4.
The hugely popular and often emotional show reveals Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick’s pioneering work in medicine to save animals from life-threatening conditions. Jump’s involvement was to create 3D graphic sequences that explain the complex operations taking place.
The video above was part of our entry that explains why we believe our work was worthy of consideration for the award. The video includes each graphic we created for the series and some fascinating glimpses behind the scenes to show how we made them.
Wajahut Shah (Jump’s 3D animator) said:
“I am honoured to be a nominee for an RTS award. It’s exciting and motivating to have my efforts be recognised by such a prestigious awarding body.
The Supervet graphics were technically demanding and the turn around time frame was also incredibly short. Despite that I did my very best to push pass the barriers and give it my all to create animations that I can be proud of.”
Anne Mensah who is Chair of the Awards said:

“The standard of television this year has been incredible and provided audiences with both comfort and escapism, as well as new and underrepresented perspectives, in what has been such a turbulent time for all of us. We are very much looking forward to celebrating the talented individuals and teams who continue to produce world class content, later this month.”
This year the RTS Craft and Design Awards were held online. We didn’t get to dress up in our finest and hit the town but we did all tune in and enjoy their live stream winner reveals. Sadly this year we got pipped to the post by Made in Colour’s excellent work – ‘My World – Dadaab Refugee Camp’. Big congratulations to them.
The full list of winners and nominations can be read here on the RTS website.
The presentation was brought to a close with an inspiring message from RTS Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales who congratulated winners, nominess and all the glorious talented people working in the UK TV industry. Hear hear. You can watch his full speech here.
